Mrs Jack Seely
The Hon. Mrs "Jack" Seely, formerly Evelyn Izme Murray, youngest daughter of Lord Elibank and wife of Brigadier-General John Edward Bernard Seely, 1st Baron Mottistone, British soldier and member of parliament - former Secretary of State for War. Her husband was the only member of the cabinet to serve throughout four years of war and led the last cavalry charge of the conflict, as officer in command of the Canadian Cavalry Brigade. He had a reputation for bravery and for leading from the front. Evelyn was the second wife of Seely, and had herself been widowed when her first husband, Captain E. C. N. Nicholson of the Royal Flying Corps died on service in 1916
