Avro 695 Lincolnian G-ALPF
The sole UK registered Avro 695 Lincolnian G-ALPF (ex RAF Lincoln B.2 RE290)parked at Southend prior to being scrapped in 1952. Converted by Airflight Ltd. In 1949 and used on the Berlin Airlift for freight on one flight and as a bulk fuel carrier on 45 more sorties. One Lincolnian converted for the Argentine Air Force ; LV-ZEI as the Cruz del Sud, for Antactic survey flights. Three more were converted by Field Aircraft Services with a larger pannier, for an abortive Paraguayan meat packing company, but were not delivered and scrapped
