Boeing 707-379C PP-VJK
Boeing 707-379C PP-VJK (msn 19822, line number 726) of VARIG (Viacao Aerea RIo-Grandense). First flown on 28 June 1968, VJK was delivered to VARIG on 4 November 1968. VJK crashed on take-off from Felix Hophouet Boigny International Airport, Abidjan, Ivory Coast on 3 January 1987, en-route to Rio de Janeiro-Galeao International Airport. The aircraft suffered a fire warning and during the return to the airport, the pilot stalled the aircraft in a turn and lost control; all but one of the 51 occupants died in the ensuing crash
