Church of Panagia Kera
Church of Panagia Kera located near the village of Kritsa in Crete. This Byzantine church is renowned for its well-preserved frescoes dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries, making it a significant historical and cultural monument on the island. The church is a three-aisled basilica with a dome, with the central aisle dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, and the two lateral aisles dedicated to Agios Antonios and Agia Anna, respectively. The frescoes within depict various scenes from the life of Christ and the Virgin Mary, as well as saints and martyrs, including a notable depiction of the Last Judgment on the west wall and the Pantokrator in the dome. It is considered one of the most important monuments in the region due to its rich iconography and the different styles of its frescoes
