de Havilland Venom prototype VV612. The prototype Venom F.1 was produced by fitting moderately swept wings on the fuselage and tail of a Vampire FB.5 whilst on the production line. Of note are the solid metal skinned canopy, due to introducing cockpit pressurisation and outer wings fitted with tufts to investigate high speed flow over the outer wings
