Hawker P.1101 Hunter T Mk.7 prototype
Hawker P.1101 Hunter T Mk.7 prototype XJ615. First flown on 8 July 1955, the initial shape of the canopy caused severe airflow problems. This photograph shows XJ-615 after having the definitive canopy shape and fairing fitted. XJ615 was delivered to the Royal Air Force, after flight tests were completed, on 1 May 1959, but was written off on 24 June 1964
