Loving WR-1 Special N351C Love formula one racer; race number 64 - Information: Designed and built by Neal Loving of Wayne University, Detroit MI ca. 1950, powered by an 85hp Continental C85-8FJ; span: 20'0"; length: 17'2"; max speed: 215 mph; cruise speed : 142 mph; stall speed : 58 mph; (attained 266 mph after a dive); range: 450 miles; ceiling: 18, 000'; first flight: 8/7/50. The WR-1 Special was an all-wood, inverted gull-wing midget racer built and flown by Loving, who had lost both feet in a glider crash 1944. The aircraft was donated to the Experimental Aircraft Association in 1964. Plans were also sold for home-builder projects
