Percival P.56 Provost T. Mk.1 7696M
Percival P.56 Provost T. Mk.1 7698M (msn PAC-56-056), formerly WV493, at RAF Halton for an open day. WV493 was delivered on 28 October 1953, assigned maintenance serial 7696M for use at RAF Halton. Later sold and given civilian registration G-BDYG. Retired to the National Museum of Flight, at East Fortune, East Lothian. In company with Hawker Hunter F Mk.4 7941M (XF369 - msn HABL003098), first flown 18 February 1956 and delivered 8 Mar 1956. Later refurbished as G-9-351 and sold to the Singapore Air Defence Command as Hawker Hunter FR.74B 538, (sold in the USA) Also in shot is one of the two Avro Vulcan B.Mk.1 bombers that graced the grass airfield at Halton. Amazingly the two Vulcans and the Comet on the airfield were all flown into the rather small grass airfield
