Polikarpov UTI-4 fighter trainers, captured by German forces during Operation Barbarossa. In the foreground is a late model UTI-4 with retractable undercarriage and in the rear a UTI-4 with fixed undercarriage. The UTI-4 was a trainer with two seats developed from the Polikarpov I-16. At least one in four I-16s on the production lines were completed as UTI two-seaters
