United States Marine Corps - Douglas C-117D Skytrain 50835 (msn 43321, unit code WZ, call-sign 835') in 1963-65(WZ is tail-code for AIRFMFPAC - Air Fleet Marine Force, Pacific) Built for the United States Army Air Force (USAAF) as C-47B-DK (msn 15553 - 26998). January 1945 to United States Navy as R4D-6 50835.1950s: Modified to R4D-8 with new msn 43321 and redesignated C-117D in 1962. December 1979 : withdrawn from use at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. Sep85: registered as N835TD The last C-117D to serve with USMC, it was on static display at MCAS Miramar, CA. and seen at the Marine Corps Museum, MCAS El Toro CA. on 13 March 1993
