Vickers 1102 VC10 9G-ABP

Vickers 1102 VC10 9G-ABP (msn 824), of Middle East Airlines at Beirut International Airport. This aircraft was one of those destroyed by Israeli commandos at Beirut Airport on 28 December 1968. In a retaliation against Lebanon for a terrorist attack on an El Al aircraft at Athens airport, 8 Israeli Air Force Aerospatiale Super Frelon helicopters landed at Beirut International Airport at night. Commandos set fire to, and destroyed 14 Lebanese aircraft
