Westland-Sikorsky S.55 Series 3 G-APDY (msn WA.241). Westland's Gnome-Whirlwind demonstrator at the 1963 Biggin Hill International Air Fair. Built as a 750hp Alvis Leonides Major powered Series 2 and first flown on 25 August 1957, APDY was then converted, in 1961, to a Series 3, with power from a 720shp Bristol Siddeley Gnome 101 turbo-shaft engine
