Entrant in Ramsgate Battle of Flowers, Kent

One of the entrants in the Ramsgate Battle of Flowers event which was staged in the town for many years. This competitor represented the Ramsgate Lifeboat which at the time held the world record of 1022 lives saved at sea. The youngsters accompanying the float demonstrate the cork lifejackets then worn by lifeboatmen, and one of them holds an oar showing that the boat was propelled solely by rowing
