A number of elderly men and women awaiting admission to one of London's workhouses are provided with a meal by the Church Army. The Church Army was founded in 1882 by the Rev Wilson Carlile as evangelists for the Church of England, initially working amongst the poor and needy in the Westminster area of Central London
