Charles Blackburn, supporter of spiritualism
Charles Blackburn, a rich businessman of Didsbury, Manchester, who supported spiritualism. During the 1870s he began to sponsor seances by the medium Florence Cook (who produced a spirit known as Katie King). When Blackburn moved to London in 1883 the Cook family moved in with him. He died in 1891
