Essex ring auctioned at Christie's
Two views of the famous Essex ring which Queen Elizabeth I is said to have given to the Earl of Essex, and which might have saved his life if it had been returned in time. It was sold at Christie's in London on 18 May 1911 for 17, 060 dollars, but there are doubts as to its authenticity
