Household Brigade at Hawthorn Hill Meeting
Prince Alexander of Teck (Queen Mary's brother), with his wife Princess Alexander of Teck (Princess Alice of Albany) standing behind the fence on his right, watching the riders at the water jump. This fashionable horserace took place annually, the riders being members of the Household Brigade, ie guards officers on duty at royal residences. It took place at the racecourse in the village of Hawthorn Hill near Windsor, Berkshire
