Thames Ironworks demonstration, Trafalgar Square

A group of young boys, the sons of the employees of the Thames Ironworks, demonstrating at Trafalgar Square, Central London, in an attempt to persuade the government to commission more shipbuilding. Many of the boys have bare feet. Their banner reads: Young England, If you don't let our fathers build a Dreadnought we shall not join the Navy. Sadly, no new orders were received, and the yard was forced to shut in 1912
