Lambert Simnel working in the Royal Kitchens

Lambert Simnel (circa 1477-circa 1525) - pretender to the throne of England. His claim to be Edward Plantagenet, 17th Earl of Warwick, in 1487 threatened the newly-established reign of King Henry VII. Simnel became the figurehead of a Yorkist rebellion organised by John de la Pole, Earl of Lincoln, a rebellion which was crushed in 1487. Simnel was pardoned and was thereafter employed by the Royal household as a scullion (as pictured in this illustration), and, later, as a falconer
