Queen Caroline's Bath, Greewich Park, London. Caroline of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel (1768-1821) married the future King George IV in 1795 becoming Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and Queen of Hanover from 29 January 1820 until her death in 1821. This union was not a success, with George writing Caroline out of his will three days after the birth of their daughter Charlotte and the couple refusing to live together. Caroline moved to Montagu House in Blackheath near Greenwich, built in the late 1600s by the 1st Duke of Montagu. Caroline had a glass bathhouse built adjoining the house, including installing a sunken bath, which is the sole surving visible part of the house, rediscovered in 1909, covered over again in the 1980s, but then re-excavated in 2001
