Andrew A. Veblen, 1848-1932. Norwegian-American school man, brother of T. Veblen. Teacher at Iowa University from 1883 as professor of physics from 1886 to 1905. 1899 had emigrants from Valdres begun to meet in convention in the Midwest every summer. Under the leadership Veblen was sued in 1902 converted into an association under the name Valdres Communications
