Out in the Cold'. Charles Bradlaugh (1833-1891) English politician, free-thinker and social reformer, born Hoxton, London. Lectured under the name Iconoclast'. Elected Member of Parliament for Northampton in 1880, he refused to take the oath of allegiance and was expelled from the House. Re-elected and rejected until 1886 when he finally took the oath.
