The exterior of the Chuanshan Institute. In the summer of 1920, Ren Bishi was introduced by He Mingfan, the principal of Chuanshan Middle School, and Wu Yue, a student, to join the Russian Research Society organized and led by Mao Zedong. Soon after going through the formalities of the association, Ren went to the Foreign Language Society in Shanghai to study Russian, and was going to study in Soviet Russia
