Illustration showing one of the deepest dives ever made
Illustration showing one of the deepest dives ever made in the type of suit shown in this picture at 288 feet, to discover the locality of a sunken submarine. It took the diver two hours and five minutes to get to the bottom, because for every ten feet he descended he sustained an added water pressure of nearly 4J lb. over every square inch of his body.
