John Radcliffe (1650-1714), English physician born at Wakefield, Yorkshire. Attended William III, Mary II and Queen Anne. Radcliffe Infirmary and Observatory at Oxford built and St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, enlarged with money bequested by him. Engraving of 1710 after portrait by Godfrey Kneller (1646-1723)
