Boy Scouts members Bao Zhengwu, Luo Yunxiang, Mao Weixiang, Ying Wenda were sacrificed during field first aid. The Battle of Shanghai was the first of the twenty-two major engagements between the National Revolutionary Army of the Republic of China and the Imperial Japanese Army of the Empire of Japan at the beginning of the Second Sino-Japanese War
