Gaultier, or Galter, was a French engraver, born at Mainz about 1561, and died in Paris in 1641. Phorbas, a prince of the Thessalian Phlegyes assisted Alector, king of Elis, in the war against Pelops, and shared the kingdom with him. tradition has Phorbas as a bold boxer who attacked travellers on the road and was eventually defeated by Apollo
