After the Maharana of Udaipur had been presented to the Royal party on their arrival from bombay, the Prince of Wales paid a ceremonial visit to the royal palace. Its ruler, the head of the noblest clan of the Rajputs, is regarded by Hindus as the descendant of the gods. It is asserted that his family has ruled since 144 A.D
