Rachel, Lady Russell (1636-1723), born Rachel Wriothesley, wife of William, Lord Russell the patriot, English Whig statesman. Acted; acted as husband's writer during his trial for complicity in Rye House Plot, 1683. Russell was found guilty of treason and beheaded. Stipple engraving after portrait in Woburn Abbey
