Ren Bishi's partner Chen Congying. Chen was born in 1902 and from Shaxi Xinqiao, Changsha, Hunan Province. She became a child bride of Ren's at the age of 12. Later, she worked as a hosiery worker at the Xiyuan Socks Factory outside Changsha's North Gate, and subsidized Ren Bishi to go to middle school with a meagre salary
