Shanghai Students in Front of the Nanjing National

Shanghai students went to the Nanjing Kuomintang government three times to petition, requesting to send troops to fight against Japan. The biggest one was the joint demonstration by students in Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, and other places on December 17th. The Kuomintang government carried out a bloody crackdown. Yang Tongheng, a student of Shanghai Wensheng's English College and a member of the Communist Youth League, died on the spot, and more than 100 students were arrested.
