Shanghai Universities and High Schools Go On Strike

On May 26th, 61 universities and high schools in Shanghai hold a strike, around 25, 000 people in Shanghai Public Stadium hold a National Salvation Pledge Ceremony. The pledge words were: Combine the ability of the people of the whole country, save the peril, and use the life and death, without turning back. This happened during the May Fourth Movement. The May Fourth Movement was a Chinese anti-imperialist, cultural, and political movement that grew out of student protests in Beijing on May 4, 1919
