Thomas Picton (1758-1815) English soldier

Thomas Picton (1758-1815) English soldier. In the Peninsular campaign he commanded the Fighting Division in Spain (1810) and distinguished himself at Busaco, Fuentes de Onoro, Badajoz, and Vittoria. He was seriously wounded at Quatre Bras and died leading his men to charge at Waterloo. Stipple engraving from History of the Wars Occasioned by the French Revolution... by CH Gifford (London, 1817)
