Zorastrians are a remnant of the ancient Iranian fire-worshippers who followed the system of belief founded by Zoraster (c628 BC-c551 BC), Iranian prophet and reformer. Called Gabars (Guebres) by Muslims, they survived in pockets in Islamic Iran from 635 AD and from the 10th century in India with the Parsees (Parsis). 19th century. Engraving
