Doorway of The Cavern Club, Liverpool
Young men in the doorway of The Cavern Club, 10 Mathew Street, Liverpool, which is credited with launching the career of The Beatles in the early 1960s. The Beatles performed at The Cavern Club hundreds of times between 1961 and 1963 (some of the band had played there earlier as The Quarrymen), holding their final gig there in August 1963 shortly before their first US trip. The club was demolished in 1973 but a replica was reopened on part of the old site in 1984, using reclaimed bricks from the original venue
