He wears a pyramid wig, a striped suit with large lapels, pink waistcoat, and a muslin cravat. He carries a cocked hat and glasses. Handcolored etching by Auguste Etienne Guillaumot Jr. from Costumes of the Directory, Rouquette, Paris, 1875. The etchings were made from designs by Eugene Lacoste and Draner after prints of the era 1795-99
