Curtains for a Gothic room. Ornate pelmet of gold-frnged fabric, heavy blue curtains and transparent lace curtains across a bay window. Handcoloured copperplate engraving from George Smith's The Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer's Guide, Jones and Co. London, 1828. George Smith was upholsterer and furniture draughtsman to his Majesty (the Prince of Wales, later King George IV), circa 1786-1826
