King Edward I of England forming an alliance with Guy de Dampierre, Earl of Flanders, 1294. The king is seated on a throne with blazons of three lions, wears a dalmatica and crown, and holds a sceptre. A scribe seated on a stool at his feet writes on parchment with a quill pen.
