Elisabeth of the Palatinate, philosopher princess, 1618-1680. Also known as Elisabeth of Bohemia or Princess-Abbess of Herford Abbey. Famous for her correspondence with Rene Descartes. Elizabeth, daughter of Frederick V, Elector Palatinate and King of Bohemia. With hair in curls, pearl necklace, low-cut gown with lace collar. After a portrait by the studio of Gerrit van Honthorst.
