Felt-capped Catasetum orchid or Mother of Pearl flower, Catasetum pileatum.. It caused quite a sensation when it was first shown in London in 1886. Chromolithograph drawn by P. de Pannemaeker, for Jean Linden's L'Illustration Horticole published in Ghent in 1886. Jean Linden (1817-1898) was a Belgian explorer, horticulturist, scientist and publisher of botanical books
