Female centaur and bacchant carrying a thyrsus or staff.. Painting removed from a wall of a room, possibly a triclinium or dining room, in a house in Pompeii in 1749. It shows a female centaur or centauress carrying a bacchant carrying a thyrsus or staff. The centauress holds a sprig of foliage in her left hand and with her right hand drapes a garland under the bacchant's arm.
