Daniel Clarey, the disabled Irish ex-Navy gingerbread-nut lottery man. In top hat, great coat, waistcoat and trousers, holding a lottery box and case of sweets. Children paid a halfpenny and chose one of 27 numbered windows on a hollow box to win some Ginger Bread Nuts.
