La Belle Feronniere, mistress of King Francis I of France. Possibly wife of a furrier, or a lawyer called Feron. She wears a simple chaperon headdress with brim, red velvet robe with wide sleeves, and holds a feathered mirror. After a portrait on wood in the editor's collection.
