Mr Clarke in the character of Henry VIII in William Shakespeare's Henry VIII, Covent Garden Theatre, 2 November 1772. In plumed cap, ermine-trimmed coat, doublet, pantaloons and hose, with rapier, holding a ring. Matthew Clarke, died 1786, performed at the Covent Garden for over 30 years.
