Regency-era Gothic-Revival style mansion designed by Sir William Chambers and James Wyatt in grounds landscaped by John Vardy and later Capability Brown for Joseph Damer, Baron Milton. The Abbey Church was restored in 1865 by Sir George Gilbert Scott for the owner Charles Joachim, Baron Hambro.
