Sailor on a Venetian galley, 16th century. He wears a red bonnet with plume, collarless buricchietto jacket, culottes and shoes. Galley marines were mostly Greeks or Slavs. Within a decorative frame engraved by H. Catenacci and Fellmann. Woodblock engraving by Gerard Seguin and E.F.
