Student (officer) at the Revolutionary military school called the Ecole de Mars, encamped at the Portes de Paris and Bois de Boulogne, 1793. Designed by Jacques-Louis David, the uniform comprised a shako with tricolor plume, blue Polish tunic, tight trousers, canvas gaiters, short Roman sword. Eleve du campe de Mars. 1793.
