William Brereton, English actor and comedian
William Brereton (1751-1787), English actor and comedian. A famously inferior actor and a drunk, he died in Hoxton mental asylum. Depicted as the title character in Douglas in Scottish bonnet with feather, military jacket with sash, tartan shawl.
