Oct. 10, 1974 - Five killed and injured in Gildford bombs blast: Five people died and 65 were injured in the twin bomb blast which hit two pubs in Guildford on Saturday night. The first blast took place at the Horse and Groom in Guildford's North Street which was packed with service personal who were celebrating their return from service in Ulster, and the five who were killed were four service personal who had only been in the army about four weeks, two were men and two women. The second blast was at the Seven Stars which was only 200 yards away nut this pub had been cleared of the public by the owner after he had seen the blast from the other pub and only a few people were injured in this pub.Photo shows the outside of the Horse and Groom just after the bomb blast on Saturday night
