Sep. 09, 1963 - VANESSA MAKES HER MARK. Actress Vanessa Redgrave today made a footprint in a wet cement block in the floor of the new Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford, Surrey. This took the place of the traditional stone-laying ceremony. PHOTO SHOWS. When Vanessa Redgrave arrived for the ceremony, she was greeted by a trumpet fanfare from Mr Gerald Nicholson, Bandmaster of the Guildford Silver Band and previously top cornet soloist in the Coldstream Guards - assisted by the two young sons of Baron Von Boetzelar, Netherlands Charge D'Affaires who has a holiday cottage near Guildford.
